<授業の目的>
To encourage students to think about and discuss issues connected to their future careers, as well as consider wider issues affecting Japan. Students will learn about, and practice giving opinions in English, as well as justifying their ideas and learning how to support and rebut views. They will also learn how to give effective presentations, whereby they can attempt to put forward their thoughts in a logical and structured way. Using as wide a range as possible of vocabulary and expressions will be encouraged throughout the course.

<授業の方法>
Classes will be made up of teacher-led discussions as well as pair/group discussion. Students will have the chance to listen to and read various sources related to the issues being considered. Following discussion and consideration, students will be expected to do further research in their own time and then give short (5 minute) presentations on the topic. These presentations will be followed by Q&A and teacher feedback.
Classes will mainly be conducted face-to face, with some assignments to be completed on Moodle.

Please be ready to speak English and be willing to express your opinions on a variety of topics. Almost no Japanese will be used between teacher and student.
