［概要］

This course aims to familiarize students with English for use in technical areas and encourage them to combine their knowledge of English with the technical and scientific knowledge.
This class helps:
>to understand professionals, experts and students talking about their work and study;
>to communicate and explain engineering topics;
>to understand a variety of technical texts, including diagrams, tables and graphs.
Moreover, this class gives opportunity to improve their TOEIC scores and their technical-writing skills by the computer-based exercise.

［具体的な達成目標］

The goals of this class are that students are able to present technical topics and write manuals in English and also to bridge their previous technical knowledge in Japanese with that in English.

［必要知識・準備］

Basic knowledge of English grammar and general vocabulary.
Students should actively take part in practices in class and also be able to transfer their engineering knowledge to the linguistic area. Computer-based exercises are expected to encourage students in their self-study activities.
※本科目に続き，「技術英語II」が開講されている．この科目を履修する前提として，本科目の単位を取得することが望ましい．
