［概要と目標］
研究室に配属された学生は教員の指導のもとに各自の研究テーマを選定する。そのために必要な文献調査、資料の収集、外国語論文の読み方などを習熟する。また、不足している基礎知識を自ら補完するという自主的な学習の方法を覚える。また、少人数のゼミナール形式の演習の場で、他の研究テーマについても計画の立案に参加し、幅広い分野と対象に対するアプローチの仕方を覚えるとともに、研究者同士のコミュニケーション、共同作業の仕方を学ぶ。（同名の演習と内容、到達目標は重複する。しかし、演習は研究室単位、あるいは複数の研究室との合同等の少人数のゼミ形式で行われ、発表討論を主体とする。一方、研究は自らの研究テーマに集中し、演習に向けた研究業務そのものを主として指導教員の指導のもとに行う点で異なる。） Students assigned to a laboratory will select their own research topic under the guidance of a faculty member. Students will learn how to conduct literature research, collect materials, and read foreign language papers. They will also learn how to study independently, supplementing their own basic knowledge that is lacking. In small-group seminar-style exercises, students will also participate in the planning of other research themes and learn how to approach a wide range of fields and subjects, as well as how to communicate and collaborate with other researchers. (The contents and objectives overlap with those of the seminar of the same name. However, the seminar is conducted in a small-group seminar format, either on a laboratory basis or jointly with several other laboratories, and focuses on presentations and discussions. On the other hand, research differs in that students concentrate on their own research themes and the research work itself for the exercises is conducted mainly under the guidance of their supervisors).

学部で学んだことを整理して今後進めていく新しい研究の方向を定めること。また、それを遂行していく上で必要だが、まだ習得していない事項を洗い出してそれを補完すること。 To organize what I have learned in my undergraduate studies and set a new direction for my future research. To identify and supplement the matters that are necessary to carry out the research but that have not yet been mastered.
