［概要と目標］
[Research Work in River Basin Environmental Science IA] Students will set a theme for their dissertation under the guidance of a group of academic advisors who are members of different specialties. In setting a theme, students will carefully read specialized journals, books, and reports related to their specialty and related fields to obtain information on the latest knowledge, methods, and techniques necessary to carry out their research, and to clarify the position of their research in Japan and abroad. Students will report on their research plan and progress at interim presentations, etc., and through repeated group discussions, organize the various problems and unresolved issues related to the topic in question, and constantly check their level of achievement toward the goals they have set. In the process of writing the dissertation, students will hone their communication skills, which are required of engineers, and develop their practical expertise to be able to propose concrete solutions. This course corresponds to the following items of the diploma policy. C. Understand the relationship between watershed environmental problems and sustainable development, and be able to independently carry out the cycle of planning, execution, and evaluation to implement solutions in society. 学位論文の作成に向けて、異なる専門の複数人からなる指導教員グループの指導のもとで、学位論文テーマを設定する。テーマ設定にあたっては、専門とその周辺分野に関する専門雑誌・書籍・報告書などを精読することにより、研究遂行に必要な最先端の知識・方法・技術の情報を得るとともに、国内外での自分の研究の位置づけを明確にする。研究計画や進捗については中間発表会等で報告し、グループ討論を重ねることにより、当該テーマに関わる諸問題および未解明課題を整理し、設定した目標に対する到達度を常に確認する。これら学位論文作成の過程で、技術者に求められるコミュニケーション力を備え、具体的な解決策を提案できる実践的な専門家としての素養を磨く。 なお、この科目はディプロマポリシーの下記項目に対応している。 C. 流域環境問題と持続可能な開発の関係を理解し、その解決策を社会に実装するための計画、実行、評価のサイクルを自立して行うことができる。

中間発表における発表と質疑応答は原則として英語で行う
