＜授業の目的＞
一般教養レベルの標準的な英語による文章を主な教材とし、その主題や情報を短時間で正確に読み取り、要点を自分の言葉でまとめる読解能力を育成する。さらに、与えられたテーマについて自分の考えを論理的、かつ、読者にとってわかりやすい英語で表現できる作文力を育成する。
＜到達目標＞  到達目標とは
No 重要度 目標 詳細 1 ◎ 能力と技能 ・600-700語程度の英文を30分程度の時間で読み、文章の要点を正確に理解する。 ・読み取ったことや、与えられたテーマについての自分の考えを平易な表現を用いて300-400語程度で書くことができる。
＜授業の方法＞
First we'll cover vocabulary and key concepts, then we'll go into the active reading questions. After that we read and repeat (I check pronunciation if it's not good) and I ask questions about the text as we go through it. After that we do reading comprehension questions, and students write full-sentence answers. I usually use any leftover time for pair conversation and have students talk to the class about their ideas.

The course is a little difficult, but if you learn all the vocabulary and phrasing in the text, you can really advance your English skills.
