A communicative approach will be used, to consolidate and improve students’ speaking and listening skills. Vocabulary, grammar and functional language will be introduced through presentations, brainstorming and listening exercises. After focussing on pronunciation, this language will then be practiced through role play and information gap activities. The coursebook was designed specifically for Japanese university students, so the focus is very much on bringing to life the language learnt previously in school. Pairwork is central to the course, increasing opportunities to speak and providing intensive practice for real-life situations outside the classroom.
