＜授業の目的および概要＞
The aim of the class is teach high-level techniques of oral communication by producing in the students the ability to listen to and understand correctly English spoken at natural speed in a variety of real-life situations and by teaching them how to express themselves appropriately and effectively in such situations.
＜到達目標＞
The goal is for students to listen to and understand completely about 200 words spoken in English at natural speed and to summarize what they have heard in their own words. In addition students should be able to prepare in their own words and give a talk lasting about 7 minutes on a given topic.
＜授業の方法＞
In class texts and CDs will be used which present authentic material from a variety of sources: conversations, recorded messages, radio broadcasts, announcements, etc. This material and related exercises will teach students to listen for different purposes and make assumptions and predictions about the various situations. Students will also do speaking and listening exercises in pairs or small groups in preparation for giving short talks during the lesson. Attention will be paid to logical formulation of ideas and clear and correct pronunciation.
