[概要と目標]
This course is a real-time online course delivered from University of Aizu
to University of Yamanashi via SINET and JGN2.
This course will assist you understand the basis of internetworking (ip addressing, intra-domain & inter-domain routing), and the IP security architecture. See http://www.u-aizu.ac.jp/~kara/ for current course information.
[必要知識・準備]
The lecture will be down-to-earth and assume very little background knowledge of communication networks. Knowledge of TCP/IP basics (and hands-on experience with PCs and routers) will be very helpful but not required. You just need the "commonsense" of a graduate student in EE or CS.
[評価基準]
Let the points for assignments = X (max 100 points).
Let the score of the final examination = Y (max 100 points).
Your final score will be the geometric mean of X and Y (= sqrt (X * Y).)
The grading will follow the rule of the University of Yamanashi: excellent for 80-100, good for 70-79, fair for 60-69, and fail for 0-59.
There will be no make-up examination.

2. IPv4 addressing scheme,
3. RIP,
4. RIP2,
5. Routing and security
6. BGP4,
7. IP Security Architecture (IPsec),
8. Cryptography basics, and
9. IKE.

I will add or remove topics depending on the progress of the classes.
