＜授業の目的および概要＞
The class will focus on teaching writing as a process. The students will learn to choose a topic, formulate ideas, develop the ideas and produce a final paper utilizing western development style.
＜授業の方法＞
1) The students will need to bring the following items to every class 　　　a) A spiral notebook for keeping lecture notes 　　　b) An English to Japanese Dictionary 　　　c) A Japanese to English Dictionary 2) No textbook is required
＜成績評価の方法＞
Students will write three papers for this class 　　a) The students will produce three drafts for each paper 　　b) The first two papers will be worth 30 points each 　　c) The last paper will be worth 40 points

Attendance 1)　Students are allowed two absences for cause from this class 2)　Students are expected to notify the teacher before any absence by fax, telephone or e-mail. 3)　Any classes missed over the limit must be made up by the student.
